Forgotten Springs Defense

You see a bill posted calling for aid from adventurers like you!

Your help is needed to protect the U tribe of Forgotten Springs from sandworm attacks. Please come to Forgotten Springs in Southern Thanalan (Mateus) as soon as you can. Look for Boots or Jet or any of the members of the Ifrit's Fists. Thank you in advance!

What can you expect?

  • long hours

  • chance of death

  • caustic sand in the face

  • minimal first aid

  • fresh air

  • positive work environment

  • again, chance of death

(This is an open world RP opportunity in FFXIV, a chance for you to develop your character and have some fun roleplaying, or just to try it out, see if it's something you enjoy.)

(We will be doing two FATEs just south of Forgotten Springs in Southern Thanalan. Everyone will be in character. When the FATEs aren't active we can talk in-character)

(All participants are always in-character (IC), but feel free to send them a tell or ask out of character (OOC) by typing in say in parenthesis if you are unsure of something. It can be serious or funny, or both! And we are all a little anxious about RP. Just relax and have fun!)

(Also, for those brooding warriors of light out there, this is on the light, funny side. Inept adventurers are preferred. Think Hildebrand quests.)

(One last point, we are used to going ham while fighting, here, go soft or the FATEs are over too soon, maybe use auto attack, stand in everything, healers heal NPCs. And if someone shows up looking to do the FATE OOC, be sure to let them get enough damage for gold rating. Have fun!)

(Also we have a cross world linkshell for this and maybe similar events. I won't invite you in-game, that's a lot of pressure on you, but I would like you to join! send tell to Boots Fosdex (Mateus) or boots359 on discord with the text "sagoli sunset" and she'll invite you! Thanks for reading!)

Dice-based wrestling rules

  • Each player takes turns with one of two types of attack, a weaken move or a pin move.

  • a successful weaken attack take one off defender's defense bonus (-1)

  • a failed weaken attack takes one off attackers attack bonus (-1)

  • no pin attempts in the first three rounds

  • pin attempt can only follow successful weaken attack

  • no stat change for successful pin

  • -1 attackers' bonus on pin fail

  • double stat changes of crit sucess/failure

  • any ties count as a failed attack

  • three pins wins
